And it occurred to me that this was no “ord’nary family.
Yes, there was something different about these people
and I was always trying to put my finger on what it is that makes this Scott family so unique.
I knew how that was because my family, y’see, had been pretty poor too. And I began to learn that y’all were making something of yourselves. You didn’t just stay down because y’had some bad times.
Since I got here I’ve been asking myself that same question -- what makes this family so extra- ordinary. And I think I know what it is.
It is character. That is what this family has – character.
Y’all have so much spunk and spirit and the ambition to continue to be and do more all the time. You Scotts have just picked yourselves up by your bootstraps. Why somebody ought to write a book – they could call it “The Unstoppable Scotts.”
